The following are UK sourced woods sourced from small, independent stockists.

 

Spalted ash  - some of this board has curly figure.............. Photo

                    - some has a more pronounced spalted look... Photo

 

Walnut         - the sapwood of this board has a curly figure.. Photo

 

Laburnum     - top sample in the photo

Dark walnut   - centre sample

Yew              - lower sample (bookmatched pair)................ Photo

 

 

The following are imported woods, sourced as salvage or offcuts / oddments from local timber suppliers.

 

Sapele         - a dark coloured African wood .................... Photo

 

Meranti         - Malaysian timber .................................... Photo
