Dulcimers & Ukuleles
These are the wooden instruments I build. Generally-speaking I work with either recovered / salvaged woods or Indigenous woods sourced within the UK.
Dulcimers
Designed for kids and people with no prior experience, this is a strummed dulcimer you hold and play like a guitar. If you're not familiar with the dulcimer fretboard, the idea is that the two bass strings are normally played open, as a drone. The melody is played on the treble string.
Tuned to a simple open chord, eg D - a - d, the fretboard layout does not have a full compliment of frets. The frets corresponding to "bad" notes are missing - it plays in tune wherever you fret a note!

Ukuleles
These classic instruments need no introduction from me! I make a slim, triangle-bodied uke, a peardrop body shape and now also the traditional hourglass shape
